Alexia Beziki
She graduated from the Department of Theatre at the School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.), specializing in Acting.
From 2004 to 2006, she pursued postgraduate studies in contemporary dance and physical theatre in Bern, Switzerland.
She is a member of the Sforaris Theatre Company and a founding member of the Default Company.
As an actress, she has collaborated with Yiannis Kalavrianos and the Sforaris Theatre Company in the productions: “Hotel Etérnité” (National Theatre of Greece), “Iphigenia in Aulis” (National Theatre of Northern Greece), “Granada”, “Phone Home”, “Sons and Daughters (a play about the pursuit of happiness)”, “Paraloges (or small everyday tragedies)”, “Praktorisses”, and “I Am the Holy Infant 2”.
She has also collaborated with Menti Mega (“Trapped”, Onassis Stegi), Alexis Tsafas (“Lady Day”), the National Theatre of Greece (“Secret Engagements”, dir. S. Chatzakis), the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Patras (“Oresteia”), the Default Company (“On the Blink”, “On the Run”, “Weather Stories”, “The Child and the Spells”), the Roes Dance Theatre (“Electra Avtourgós”), Christos Theodoridis and the Orchestra of Small Things (“Until the End”), Lia Tsolaki (“Parking”), Stella Zannou and Smack Dance Company (“Under Cinderella’s Skirt”), Thomas Mettler (“About Life and Death”), and Proschima (“Smack”), among others.
As an assistant director and choreographer, she has worked alongside Yiannis Kalavrianos, contributing both as assistant director and choreographer.
She co-wrote the screenplay for the feature film “Dresden Porcelain Dolls”.
She co-directed, with Default Company, the performances “On the Blink”, “On the Run”, and the children’s plays “Weather Stories” (Onassis Stegi) and “The Child and the Spells” (Porta Theatre).
From 2016 to the present, she has conducted theatre workshops for refugees, migrants, unaccompanied minors, as well as for amateur and professional actors.
As a drama educator, she has been working since 2016 in the Gifted Education Programs of Danae Deligeorgi. In June 2018, she co-led with Danae Deligeorgi the first summer camp on self-development and social-emotional growth for teenagers at Ellinogermaniki Agogi, and in August 2017, she participated in the first Gifted Education Camp, designed by Danae Deligeorgi, at the YMCA Camps of Thessaloniki (Χ.Α.Ν.Θ.), where she had also served as a volunteer for 10 years.
